Best Of Haute Couture Week Spring 2018

One of the most exquisite weeks of the year, the Haute Couture one, has concluded and it left us dreaming with bows, lace, tulle, smokey eyes and enormous feather hats. But in case you have missed it, here is a brief review of the best shows.

ES: La semana más refinada de todas, la Couture Week, ha concluido y nos ha dejado soñando con moños, tul, encaje, smokey eyes y enormes sombreros de plumas. Pero en caso de que te la hayas perdido aquí te dejamos un breve resumen de los mejores desfiles.

Christian Dior

 Maria Grazia Chiuri presented her second Haute Couture collection. It was inspired by Leonor Fini, an avant-garde Argentinian artist of whom Christian Dior itself was a big admirer.

ES: Maria Grazia Chiuri presentó su segunda colección de Alta Costura. La misma estuvo inspirada en Leonor Fini, una artista avant-garde argentina, de quien Christian Dior era un gran admirador.

Giambattista Valli

Floral lace dresses paired up with high-knee leather boots, double bows, deep v-necklines, monos adorned with white feathers and pom poms slippers. Those are just some of the chosen looks to describe the feminine and delicate environment in which Giambattista Valli submerged us.

ES: Vestidos florales de encaje combinados con botas altas de cuero, varios pares de moños, amplios escotes en V, monos adornados con plumas y slippers con pompones. Esos son algunos de los looks elegidos para describir el ambiente femenino y delicado en el que nos sumergió Giambattista Valli.

Givenchy

This year is all about empowering women, and if we are going to talk about that we have to mention the Spring 2018 Couture collection of Givenchy. Clare Waight Keller made a true ode to girl power with suits, geometric cuts, luxurious sequin dresses, camel coats and other elegant pieces in neutral, blue, red and metallic tones.

ES: Uno de los temas y objetivos de este año es el empoderamiento de las mujeres, y si vamos a hablar de ello no podemos dejar de mencionar la colección Spring 2018 Couture de Givenchy. Clare Waight Keller presentó una verdadera oda al poder femenino con traje de dos piezas, cortes geométricos, vestidos empapados en brillantes, abrigos en color crema y prendas que derrochaban elegancia en tonos neutros, azules, rosas y metálicos.

Schiaparelli

Schiaparelli doesn't cease to amaze us. The firm keeps on reinventing itself every season without leaving aside the spirit of its founder, Elsa while adapting it to the 21st century. For 2018 Bertrand Guyon proposes colourful silk dresses, lace skirts, ethnic blazers combined with belt-waist and XL pearl earrings.

ES: Schiaparelli cada vez nos sorprende más. La firma consigue reinventarse cada temporada sin dejar de lado el espíritu de su fundadora, Elsa, pero adaptándolo al siglo XXI. Para el 2018 Bertrand Guyon propone vestidos de seda en colores vibrantes semitransparentes, faldas de encaje, blazers de estilo étnico combinados con cinturones que marcan la cintura y pendientes circulares XL adornados con perlas.  

Valentino

Last but not least, Valentino, the show that everybody talks about. Pierpaolo Piccoli demonstrated that Haute Couture it's not just about gowns as he filled the runway with colour and volume. There were suits, capes, skirts with amazing bows, huge feather hats that hid the eyes, sweaters with floral motives and ruffled shirts. Bravissimo, signor!

ES: Por último, Valentino, el show del que todos hablan. Pierpaolo Piccoli demostró que la Alta Costura no se trata sólo de vestidos, en esta última sfilata, llenó de color y volumen la pasarela con trajes, capas, faldas con lazos gigantescos, enormes sombreros que ocultaban la mirada, sweaters con estampados florales de estilo arty y camisas con volados ¡Bravissimo, signor!
