Fall/Winter 17-18 Trends You Need To Know

September is, for many, the most important month of the year and the fashion world is no exception. The working year begins, designers present their collections, the fashion capitals welcome influencers, it-girls and artists, brands renew their campaigns and the season change. Taking all this into account plus the new trends of the ongoing Fashion Week, sometimes it's hard to remember everything. Here it's a brief summary of the most important ones for this Fall-Winter 2017/2018.

ES: Septiembre es, para muchos, el mes más importante y el rubro de la moda no es la excepción. El año laboral comienza, los diseñadores presentan sus colecciones, las capitales de la moda reciben influencers, it-girls y artistas de todo el mundo, las marcas renuevan sus campañas y la temporada cambia. Teniendo en cuenta todo esto más las nuevas trends de la Fashion Week en curso, a veces es difícil recordarlo todo. Aquí les hago un breve resumen de las principales tendencias para este Otono-Invierno 2017/2018.

SILVER

Put on your galactic boots, jacket and dresses on. Silver will be one of the main characters to beat the cold.

ES: Botas galácticas, chaquetas y hasta vestidos. El plateado será uno de los grandes protagonistas para combatir el frío.

OSTRICH FEATHERS

Want to add a couture touch to your daily outfit? With a feather piece, it's now possible. On the runway, we saw them in a wide range of colours, with transparencies to wear on a night out and with jeans for a relaxed autumn afternoon.  

ES: ¿Quieres añadirle un toque alta costura a tu conjunto diario? Con una prenda de plumas es posible. En la pasarela las vimos en una amplia gama de colores, combinadas con transparencias para usar por la noche y con vaqueros para una tranquila tarde de otoño.

CHECKS

The 90s are back and with them, tartan. Pick up a jacket, skirt or cosy scarf to add to your look a bit of grunge. 

ES: Los 90 están de regreso, y junto con ellos, el tartán. Escoge una chaqueta, falda o cálida bufanda para darle un toque grunge a tu outfit.

RED POWER 

Red is definitely the colour of winter. Not only it is present in the collections of thousands of designers, but also in accessories, catalogues and advertisements. 

ES: El rojo es, definitivamente, el color del invierno. No solo está presente en las colecciones de miles de diseñadores sino que, además, lo encontramos en accesorios, catálogos y anuncios.

FUN FURS

When temperatures go down, having a fur coat or something made from it is key. On the catwalk, we saw furs in coats, bags, shoes and even dresses. But unlike the past years, in this one, the more striking the better!

ES: Para cuando las temperaturas bajan, tener un abrigo de piel es fundamental y ahora más aún. Sobre la pasarela las vimos en abrigos, bolsos, zapatos y hasta vestidos, pero a diferencia de otros años, en éste se llevan de todos colores ¡y cuanto más llamativos sean mejor!

NATURE 

Floral designs and prints with animals are no longer for summertime only. The upcoming months we'll make an ode to earth with roses, palm trees, animal print and everything related to mother nature.

ES: Los diseños florales y estampados de animales ya no son exclusivos del verano. Los siguientes meses le haremos una oda a la tierra con rosas, palmeras, animal print y todo lo relacionado con la madre naturaleza.

LEAVE YOUR HAT ON 

All you need to do is follow a few bloggers on Instagram and look at the window shops of the department stores to realize that, hats are the It-accessories this winter. And, if we pay extra attention, we'll realize that berets are above the others. So, time to bring out the Parisian woman we all have!

ES: Basta con seguir a unas pocas blogueras en Instagram y estar atentos a los escaparates de los grandes almacenes, para darse cuenta que los sombreros son el accesorio it de este invierno. Y, si prestamos un poco más de atención, veremos que las boinas están un paso más adelante que el resto ¡Hora de sacar la parisina que todas llevamos dentro.

SHEARLING

Coats with lambskin, is there anything warmer? This season, they are updated for all tastes and styles. You just have to find one that suits you!

ES: Chaquetas con piel de cordero ¿acaso existe algo más abrigado? Esta temporada se renuevan para todos los gustos y estilos ¡Sólo tienes que encontrar uno que vaya contigo!

OFFICE WEAR

Thinking about going for some margaritas after work? Go ahead! You will be appropriately dressed even if you are in a pantsuit.

ES: ¿Piensas en ir por unas margaritas al salir de la oficina? Adelante! Estarás vestida para la ocasión incluso si llevas un traje de pantalón.

TURQUOISE

Another colour that we are going to see quite a lot is turquoise, from skirts to bags and boots. Pick up your favourite piece and be prepared to attract all eyes!

ES: Otro color que veremos a menudo es el turquesa, desde faldas hasta bolsos y botas. Elijan la pieza que más les guste y prepárense para acaparar todas las miradas.

B&B

Remember when we used to hear that black and blue shouldn't go together? Well, not anymore. In the past Fashion Week we saw this duo be part of many collections and, moreover, Maria Grazia Chiuri dedicated a big part to it in Dior, making this combo the chosen one for autumn.  


ES: ¿Recuerdan cuando solíamos escuchar que el azul y el negro no debían mezclarse? Ya no más. En la Fashion Week posterior, vimos a este dúo formar parte de diversas colecciones e, incluso, Maria Grazia Chiuri le dedicó gran parte de la suya, haciendo de esta combinación la elegida del otoño.

Striped garments have been trendy for a couple of seasons now and they don't seem to go anywhere. So, if you were thinking about investing in a quality one, the moment is now!

ES: Algo que ya es tendencia desde hace varias temporadas y continuará siéndolo son las prendas a rayas. Por lo tanto, si estaban pensando en invertir en una de calidad ¡ahora es el momento!
