Couture Fashion Week Fall 2014

MY PICKS The shortest fashion week of them all, but as equally important as the others, known as couture has come and gone in a flash and just like with the ready-to-wear ones here are my favourite collections and pieces for the upcoming fall.

ES: La semana de la moda más corta de todas, pero igual de importante, conocida como the couture week ha venido e ido en un santiamén y al igual que con las ready-to-wear aquí les dejo mis colecciones y prendas preferidas.

I have just one word to describe Christian Dior's collection: outstanding. From the clothes to the makeup and accessories, everything was impeccable and every model was dressed meticulously right to impress from head to toes. The cut and delicate prints of the skirts were one of the many highlights of the parade.                                                                   ES: Sólo una palabra me viene a la mente para describir la colección de Christian Dior: extraordinaria. Desde la ropa hasta el maquillaje y accesorios, todo fue impecable y cada modelo estaba vestida meticulosamente bien para impresionar, de pies a cabeza. El corte y los delicados estampados de las faldas fueron unos de los muchos destacados del show.  

The volume of some of the dresses and coats is another thing that is still on my mind.

ES: El volumen de algunos de los vestidos y abrigos son otras de las cosas que todavía rondan por mi mente.

The structured geometric prints of the A-line coats at the Armani Privé runway are perfect to wear them with mini-skirts or your favourite to-go skinny jeans for a more casual look.

ES: Las estructuradas líneas geométricas de los tapados tipo A en la pasarela de Armani Privé son perfectos para usar tanto con una mini como con un par de skinny jeans para un look más casual.

Biker jackets and vest have never been so chic, paired up with skirts, dresses, trousers and even track pants the tweeded ones from Bouchra Jarrar are off-duty and office cool.

ES: Las chaquetas y chalecos de motociclista nunca fueron tan chic, combinadas con faldas, vestidos, pantalones y hasta joggings los hechos de tweed de Bouchra Jarrar son aptos para fuera y dentro de la oficina.  

Karl Lagerfeld's couture collection for Chanel was overly feminine for me, although I couldn't resist some pieces like this cream sweater as seen at above or that beautiful cut-out-leg silver dress.

ES: La colecctión couture de Karl Lageferld para Chanel fue demasiado femenina para mí, aunque no pude resistir algunas de las prendas como el sweater color crema de arriba o ese increíble vestido plateado que deja a la vista parte de la pierna izquierda. 

But if of dresses we talk then nobody knows how to do them better than the king of the red carpet, the Lebanese Elie Saab. 

ES: Pero si de vestidos hablamos nadie sabe más que el rey de la alfombra roja, el Libanes Elie Saab.

Are you planning on going out this weekend? Here are two options for different social events from the Zuhair Murad's fashion show: a colourful sparkle short mono ideal for a party night and a little black cape dress for a date or drinks with friends.

ES: ¿Están pensando salir este fin de semana? Acá hay dos opciones para diferentes eventos sociales del desfile de Zuhair Murad: un colorido y brillante mono corto ideal para una noche de fiesta y una  versión tipo capa del clásico vestidito negro.

Finally, my award for the best makeup and front row style were also seen at Christian Dior's show.

ES: Finalmente mi premio para el mejor maquillaje y front row style fueron también vistos en Christian Dior.
