David LaChapelle Exibition (Photographs 1984 - 2013)

David LaChapelle, the well-known contemporaneous American photographer, video artist and director, opened his exhibition "Photographs 1984-2013" at Usina del Arte (Buenos Aires).

LaChapelle is famous for its colourful pictures with the pop art style, often sexual and for his celebrities portraits. In addition, a lot of the have been published in many fashion magazines like Vogue, i-D, GQ, to name a few, which makes him a great reference in the world of fashion. David also characterises for the clarity with which he manages to transmit a message through the images.to the point where, as he once said, don't need subtitles.
The exhibition is composed of more than 80 photographs taken in the last three decades. These include portraits of stars such as Naomi Campbell, Uma Thurman, Michael Jackson, David Bowie and more, commercial photos and some from his latest collection where he criticises consumption.
This is undoubtedly something that no fashion and/or photography lover should miss.

LaChapelle es conocido mundialmente por sus coloridas fotografías de estilo pop art, a menudo con fuerte carater sexual y por sus retratos del mundo de las celebridades. Además, sus fotos aparecieron en las portadas de las revistas de moda más importantes, como Vogue, i-D y GQ, algo que lo hace un gran referente dentro del mundo fashion. David se caracteriza también por la claridad con la que logra transmitir un mensaje a través de las imágenes al punto de, como él mismo dijo, no necesitar subtítulos.
La muestra "fotografías 1984-2013" incluye más de 80 obras realizadas en las últimas tres décadas. Las mismas están compuestas por retratos de celebridades como Naomi Campbell, Uma Thurman, Michael Jackson, David Bowie, por nombrar algunos, fotografías comerciales y parte de sus últimas colecciones que hacen crítica al consumo.
Sin dudas una exibición que ningún amante de la moda y/o fotografía se puede perder.
