What We Will Wear In 2017

Happy New Year guys! Hope you had a great start and may these twelve months be better than the last ones. As for fashion, it will be a year for risks, with many new trends and others not so much, to be daring with prints and try bold colours. ES: ¡Feliz año nuevo! Espero que hayan tenido un gran comienzo y que éste sea mejor que el anterior. En cuanto a moda, será un año para arriesgarse, con muchas tendencias nuevas y otras no tanto, para animarse a los estampados y probar con colores osados. STRIPES
They are one of the leading trends for this summer. We have seen them in every size and colour on many important runways such as the ones from Carolina Herrera, Balmain and Fendi, to name a few.

ES: Las rayas son unas de las protagonistas indiscutibles del verano. Las hemos visto en todos los tamaños y colores sobre las pasarelas más importantes, como la de Carolina Herrera, Balmain y Fendi, por nombrar algunas.

FLORALS
Floral prints seem to never go out of style and although we started to wear them this winter, their peak will be during summer. They'll be everywhere, from clothes to accessories, especially in skirts and dresses.

ES: Los estampados florales parece que nunca pasan de moda, y si bien ya los comenzamos a usar durante este invierno, su gran auge será en el verano donde estarán presentes en todo tipo de prendas y accesorios, especialmente en faldas y vestidos.

KHAKI FEVER
This year, khaki and khaki green are the new beige. We are going to see them in both winter and summer clothing and you can wear them with other colours or together.

ES: Este año los colores khaki y verde khaki son los nuevos beige, estarán presentes en la ropa tanto de invierno como de verano y los puedes llevar solos o combinados.

TRANSPARENCIES
They are on the rise this season and will continue to be so for the next months.Dior, Blumarine, Mulberry and Rodarte were just some of the brands that chose them.

ES: Las transparencias vienen pisando fuerte este invierno y así seguirá siendo durante los próximos meses. Dior, Blumarine, Mulberry y Rodarte fueron solo algunas de las marcas que las eligieron.

PINK WENDSDAYS
The title is, obviously, a reference to the well-known film played by Lindsay Lohan "MeanGirls" because for summer the designers invite us to be part of the "plastic squad". How? Well, wear something pink at least once a week and maybe you'll get to sit with Regina George and her friends.

ES: El titulo es, obviamente, una referencia a la famosa película interpretada por Lindsay Lohan, "Mean Girls". Y es que este verano los diseñadores nos invitan a formar parte de "las plásticas" ¿Cómo? Luce algo de color rosa mínimo una vez por semana, para poder sentarte con Regina George y sus sequaces.

DEFINED WAIST
Carolina Herrera is a clear example that a well-defined waist is everything we need on the road to success, and apparently is not the only one. Companies such as Lacoste, Oscar de La Renta and Prada, among other, followed the steps of the Venezuelan designer by creating incredible clothes where the waist plays a major role.

ES: Carolina Herrera es un claro ejemplo de que una cintura definida es todo lo que necesitamos en nuestro camino al éxito y al parecer no es la única. Grandes firmas como Lacoste, Oscar de La Renta y Prada, entre otros, siguieron los pasos de la diseñadora Venezolana creando increíbles diseños donde la cintura es la protagonista.

TRENCHES
Who said they are only for rainy days? This 2017 they will be an important piece in our closet all year round regardless of the weather. So, if you don't own one yet, invest in a quality trench to be covered for seasons.

ES: ¿Quién dijo que son unicamente para los días lluviosos? Este 2017 invadirán nuestro armario durante todo el año sin importar el clima. Así que si todavía no tienes uno, invierte en un trench de calidad para estar cubierta por temporadas.

TEES THAT TALK
Last year, printed tops were huge in the street style world but this one we switch illustrations for phrases that, according to what we saw on the catwalks, the more controversial the better.

ES:  El año pasado los tops estampados fueron furor en el street style, en éste cambiamos las ilustraciones por frases y, según lo que vimos en la pasarela, cuanto más controversiales mejor.

SHADES OF BLUE
Another colour that will be successful the upcoming twelve months in both garment and accessories, is blue in all its shades. Gucci, DKNY, Emporio Armani and Miu Miu were just a few of the fashion houses that chose to base a wide part of their collection on them.

ES: Otro de los tonos que se viene para los próximos doce meses y que estará presente tanto en ropa como en accesorios, es el azul en todas sus gamas. Gucci, DKNY, Emporio Armani y Miu Miu fueron algunas de las casas que elegieron basar gran parte de su colección en estos colores.

RUFFLEMANIA
Last but not least, ruffles keep on catching our attention. We have been wearing them for quite a long time now but however, they've managed to reinvent it selves every time and have become a synonym of spring.

ES: Por último, pero no menos importante, los volados siguen acaparando nuestra atención. Los hemos estado llevando desde hace ya un largo tiempo y han logrado convertirse en un sinónimo de la primavera que logra reinventarse cada temporada.
