New York & London Fashion Weeks

MY PICKS Fashion month has arrived and so far two fashion weeks have come and gone. As always here is my selection of which, in my opinion, were the highlights of them both.

ES: El mes de la moda llegó y dos fashion weeks  han pasado. Como de costumbre aquí les dejo una selección de los que, en mi opinión, fueron los destaques de ambas.

If someone made a remake of Clueless then Jason Wu's latest collection for Boss would be everything the modern female cast would wear. Maintaining the masculine style of the firm he paired up men shirts with pencil skirts followed by 60s inspired dresses and a little bit of tailoring. The result was exquisite.

ES: Si hicieran un remake de Clueless esta última colección de Jason Wu para Boss sería todo lo que el cast femenino moderno usaría. Manteniendo el estilo masculino de la firma, emparejó camisas de hombre con faldas lápiz seguido de vestidos tipo sixties y algo de sastrería. 

Michael Kors brought us all the brightness and splendour of the summer with sailor jackets and floral yellow skirts.

ES: Michael Kors nos trajo toda la luminosidad y esplendor del verano con chaquetas de tipo marinero y faldas estampadas con flores amarillas.

You may think that flowers for spring are a total cliche, but Carolina combined them with geometric forms making them look fresh and original. Bravo Ms Herrera!

ES: Tal vez piensen que las flores en primavera son un total cliché, pero Carolina las combinó con figuras geométricas haciéndolas lucir frescas y originales ¡Bravo Sra. Herrera!

Karlie Kloss said it, there is nobody that could make a woman feel more beautiful than Oscar de La Renta, and who would dare to refute it? if each season he surprises us even more than with the last one. This time, lines and plaid were the big stars of the runway, followed by super feminine pieces with lace and fringes.

ES: Lo dijo Karlie Kloss, no hay nadie que pueda hacer sentir más bella a una mujer que Oscar de La Renta ¿y quién se atrevería a refutarlo? si cada temporada que pasa nos sorprende aún más que en la anterior. Esta vez, las líneas y el cuadrillé fueron las grandes estrellas de su pasarela, a las cuales se le sumaron piezas de encaje y flecos híper femeninos.

We leave the Big Apple to go straight to England's capital, where Christopher Kane stood out with some original great dresses made with cords. After these, peplum tops, leather pants, and Chanel-like jacket appeared on the scene, although all the eyes were put on the former ones.

ES: Salimos de la Gran Manzana para dirigirnos ahora a la capital de Inglaterra, donde Christopher Kane se destacó con unos originales y estupendos vestidos hechos con cordones. A éstos les siguieron tops peeplum, pantalones de cuero y chaquetas tipo Chanel, pero todas la miradas y aplausos fueron, sin dudas, para los primeros.

Pringle of Scotland was my favourite from the city of London. Massimo Nicosia used different textures such as silk, leather, cotton and knits, which he mixed together. The result could not be better with the models wearing delicate monochromatic outfits ideal for summer.

ES: Pringle of Scotland fue mi preferido de la ciudad de Londres. Massimo Nicosia utilizó diferentes texturas como seda, cuero, algodón y tejidos las cuales combinó entre si. El resultado no pudo ser mejor con las modelos luciendo delicados outfits monocromáticos ideales para el verano.

Last but not least, I was captivated by the red-lipped models that walked the Burberry's fashion show and by the way Cara Delevingne paired up a blue suit with sneakers to attend it. Viva Londres!

ES: Por último, pero no por eso menos importante, quedé cautivada por las modelos de labios rojos que desfilaron por la pasarela de Burberry y por el modo en que Cara Delevingne emparejó un traje de vestir con zapatillas deportivas para asistir al mismo ¡Viva Londres!.
